As Director & General Manager for the Industrial Market Segment, you will lead Trane’s strategic expansion into industrial heating and cooling applications. This role is responsible for driving profitable growth, managing the segment’s P&L and key performance indicators, defining the long-range strategy, building differentiated offerings, and developing high-impact channel and sales partnerships. You will lead a cross-functional team and collaborate across product, sales, engineering, and operations to deliver customer-centric innovation and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Define and execute the industrial segment strategy aligned with Trane’s long-range growth plan.
Portfolio Development & Innovation
Drive the development and commercialization of differentiated solutions—including industrial chillers, heat pumps, and smart service strategies—that leverage Trane’s capabilities to deliver enhanced customer value, operational insights, and improved service outcomes.
Partner closely with Product Growth Teams (PGTs) to execute the offering expansion strategy that enables profitable growth. This collaboration ensures that new and existing solutions are market-driven, innovative, and aligned with Trane’s long-term strategic objectives.
Encourage cross-functional innovation through the integration of feedback from customers, sales channels, and operations, accelerating time-to-market and maximizing customer impact.
Sales & Channel Development
Build and lead a dedicated sales organization for the industrial segment, establishing partnerships with OEMs, independent specialty distributors, rep agencies, and strategic direct accounts channels to market.
Partner with Trane's direct CSO (Commercial Sales Organization) to implement segment growth strategies.
Business Management
Drive profitable growth and oversee the industrial segment’s P&L and KPI performance, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic objectives.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a high-performing cross-functional team.
Customer Engagement
Champion a seamless customer journey and build strong relationships with industrial clients and channel partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
10+ years in industrial equipment markets, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role. Heating and cooling experience is a plus but not required.
Proven success in general management, with strong experience in P&L and KPI management.
Demonstrated success building and leading sales organizations, particularly in partnership with industrial channels to market.
Deep understanding of industrial process market sub-segments and customer needs.
Direct experience working with independent specialty distribution, rep agencies, and strategic direct accounts.
Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and team development capabilities.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience in leading growth and transformation initiatives within industrial markets.
Familiarity with outcome-based, consultative selling practices and solutions in the industrial market channels.
Executive presence and a proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization as an initiative champion.
Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and business analytics.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, and matrixed environment.
