Job Summary:
This role will provide leadership for Logistics and Warehouse operations at Trane Technologies. The selected candidate will lead, manage and review operational metrics, strategies and risk mitigation plans to ensure optimized Logistics and Warehouse performance. The selected individual must have demonstrated experience in leading both supervisors and employees in a fast-paced supply chain logistics and manufacturing environment focused on using robust business processes and continuous improvement techniques to deliver Safety, Cost, Delivery, Quality and People objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Serves as positive role model by maintaining positive internal/external relationships; embracing inclusion and promoting individual growth and development; actively promoting Continuous Improvement culture and demonstrating a commitment to excellence in the achievement of company goals/objectives.
• Enforce, promote and comply with workplace safety procedures for self and logistics team.
Leadership
• Provides leadership, coaching, training, and feedback to direct reports; defines expectations, monitors and evaluates performance, appropriately rewards and holds team members accountable.
• Determine and set the work schedule of the department to meet customer requirements. Makes and communicates daily job assignments.
• Builds a high-performing team through selective recruitment, collaboration, development, problem resolution and accountability.
• Ensures that team members are trained, and training is documented.
• Tracks attendance, performance, and growth plan for all team members. Responsible for creating and communicating Performance Reviews, strengths, areas of improvement and development. Provides on-going feedback and coaching.
Distribution and Warehouse Operations Management
• Coordinate with Operations of production orders to ensure on-time delivery shipping and customer expectations.
• Develop and implement transportation strategies and supports customer freight needs.
• Monitor and drive productivity programs to achieve freight budget and reduce cost.
• Coordinate activities and assign work according to labor requirements, with an emphasis on driving improvements in operational efficiency
• Ensure shipping meets customer expectations for quality, on time performance, and accuracy; including documentation in accordance with all trade compliance regulations
• Ensure timely unloading, receiving, storage, and delivery of material while maintaining inventory accuracy and protecting product from damage
• Be a steward of Lean through BOS (Business Operating System) execution; recommending improvements to reduce cost and drive productivity while achieving site specific goals
• Develop, implement, and improve standard work
• Manage suppliers/service providers that support receiving, warehousing, and shipping functions
• Coordinate and work with other transportation/logistics functions within Trane Technologies.
• Drive, monitor and report transportation performance measures (KPI’s); investigate root cause of service disruptions and implement appropriate corrective actions. Proactively predict and offset potential transportation disruptions where possible.
• Ensure timely unloading, receiving, storage and delivery of material to the production areas/sites.
• Supports inventory and product loss control, coordinates timely and accurate shipping and receiving, and ensures safety/operational guidelines are met.
• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including carrier communication, freight quoting, and exception handling for expedited shipments.
• Manage carrier relationships, communications, and reconsignments to ensure efficient transportation and high service levels.
• Investigate and resolve freight claims, manage claim entries, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolutions.
• Ensure accurate Bill of Lading (BOL) processing, tracking information, and customer service support for logistics operations.
• Maintain and update transportation management systems (OTM/CRM), input customer data, and integrate financial information.
• Maintain and issue inventory reporting, including inventory accuracy and audits.
• Monitor that all materials equipment is being operated safely. Complete department safety inspections and complete incident investigations within the required timeframe.
• Contribute towards design and development of, and then implement and sustain, solutions for the improvement of material flow through shipping, receiving, and warehouse using lean principles (6S, Kanban, Visual Management, etc.).
• Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
• Other duties/responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Relative Work Experience: 5-10 years related experience including shipping, receiving, inventory control and cycle counting preferred. Demonstrates leadership qualities with 4 years’ leadership experience. Experience with international logistics, U.S. Customs regulations including C-TPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) and working with Third Party Logistics Providers (3PL). Lean/six sigma working knowledge is a plus. Must demonstrate understanding of good shipping practices.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or related field required.
Certifications / Licenses: Must hold valid driver’s license. CPSM, APICS or CTL certification and Lean certification (e.g. Green/Black Belt) preferred.
Computer Systems / Software: MS Office Suite required, MRP/ERP (Fourthshift, Dynamics MS), RF scanning (Visibar) and knowledge of Warehouse Management System preferred
Specialized Training: Required to successfully complete Trane Technologies Fork Lift Training. GMP training.

Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $80,000 - $120,000
Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
