Job Summary

  • Provides support to Manufacturing Engineering team in development, improvement, maintenance, and elimination of nonconformance in quality and manufacturing engineering processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports manufacturing processes for department(s).
  • Work alongside engineers for design, material, and technical support.
  • Utilize the Lean philosophy to make improvements or troubleshoot production processes.
  • Will develop, organize, and update manufacturing work areas, material flow, process documentation, and system setups for new products and features.
  • Look for opportunity to eliminate nonconformance or frequent production errors.
  • Perform tests in support of new manufacturing processes.
  • Work with operators on improvement ideas for production process and tool creation required for safety, takt, and/or ergonomic attainment.
  • Modify and maintain any existing equipment or tools created, using 5S standards.
  • Create, update, and sustain kanban supermarket systems.
  • Support RIE/Kaizen events with ideas and tangible OPEX application.
  • Provide periodic training and feedback for proper assembly or lean tools for various production departments.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance, inspections on building equipment, and testing area components.

Key Competencies:

  • Manufacturing engineering knowledge.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing machinery within the plants and any complimentary certifications.
  • Knowledge and ability to use various hand tools.
  • Ability or want to learn to make fixtures and jigs to further enable assembly.
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and problem solve.
  • Willing to train by working alongside production team members.

·         Ability to work in a team setting and demonstrate a positive work attitude 

·         Actively practices and promotes safety.

  • 2 yr technical degree or current pursuit of technical degree.
  • 3D software and programming knowledge, a plus.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Basic knowledge of various Microsoft Office applications.
  • A very high desire to learn and make an impact.
