Job Summary:
- Manage and execute quality engineering process projects in a manufacturing setting with a focus on automation, to enhance efficiency in error detection and eliminating variations.
- Process owner for Non-Destructive testing methods such as Eddy current testing (tubular products), Dye penetration etc.
- Potential opportunity to own a product or process line and lead a team.
- Performs quality control tasks using PFMEA and Control Plan, optimizes ISO quality management systems, and implements proven inspection and statistical techniques (MSA, Gage R&R, DOE) to ensure product/process compliance to stakeholder requirements.
- Prioritize internal and external opportunities and resolve them through a systematic problem-solving methodology (CAPA) that identifies root cause(s), implements countermeasures, and verifies results.

This position has been designated as onsite.
General Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
Major:
- Owner for the process quality, improvement and control for responsible area.
- Owner for ensuring quality at the source for responsible area by utilizing sufficient controls through measurements and other detection methods.
- Owner for creating and driving the implementation of continuous improvement actions to prevent process defects and/or escapes on a recurring basis.
- Perform internal product & process audits.
- Create, maintain, and update Control Plans as well as audit to identify improvements.
Additional:
- Assist Manufacturing Engineering in the update of PFMEAs for product or process changes.
- Champion the reduction of customer complaints; reduce customer DPPM and warranty costs.
- Evaluate Drawings and Engineering standards including critical dimensions.
- Perform data analysis: non-conforming material, Warranty, Escapes, and others.
- Drive continuous improvement for all elements of the Quality System.
- Support lean initiatives and Problem Solving (5s, RIE's, SQDIP, MDI, 9 step).
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures as per BOS and engineering standards.
- Support the manufacturing assembly and test cells to maximize product quality and reliability.
- Support the launch of new products through Early Launch Containment planning and support.
- Support Quality System to make sure all deliverables are met for customer and regulatory body compliance.
- Serves as internal ISO 9001 auditor.
- Responsible for keeping updated Method Sheets, visual aids, formats and quality records according to Trane QMS.
- Ensure the compliance of documentation and improvement following the quality standards, FPY, COPQ, DPPM, Calibration and development of corrective actions with the use of 6-sigma, SPC, strategic A3 and 9-Steps.
- Support and monitoring of SQDIP / MDI boards.
- Analysis and monitoring complaints and CARs and SCARs as necessary.
- May supervise hourly team members in inspection, gauging, metrology, college co-operative students, interns.
- Manage pressure vessel code compliance programs related to ASME/ PED/ TSSA etc.
- Drive process change projects in line with value stream mapping
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree in Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing and or relevant environment.
- Quality engineering, NDT (Eddy Current), and previous weld inspection experience is preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including project management tools is a must.
- Knowledge of various quality system methodologies; Six Sigma, PFEMA, Control Plan, Cp Cpk, R&R, MSA, PPAP, APQP, etc. is a must.
- Quality or other professional certifications (ASQ CQE, PMP) etc. is preferred.

- Must be detail oriented and results oriented to ensure all quality requirements are met.
- Experience with MS Office products required & to learn other computer software applications.
- Must be a high-energy self-starter, results-oriented proactive and able to work effectively with little supervision.
- Must be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to effectively build relationships with employees at all levels.
- Ability to interpret quality and engineering specifications.
Travel:
Estimated Travel is less than 10% (International and National)
