Where is the work:
This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite a week) and will be based out of our Clarksville, TN location.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Engineering to create parts, assemblies and layouts in Creo.
- Translate verbal and/or written instructions into drawings of HVAC products to be used for production, sales and service.
- Perform various forms of technical support, including answering questions from other departments relative to drawings or design data.
- Create assemblies and sheet metal parts utilizing a 3D CAD modeling software.
- Understand basic principles of designing equipment, drafting and computer-aided design and apply principles to assigned tasks.
- Ability to make sketches, 2D and 3D engineering drawings and common computations.
- Understand and adhere to design and drafting standard practices.
- Bill of Material creation and maintenance.
- Occasionally required to lift materials for support of supplier development, product prototype, or laboratory build and test.
- Moderate mobility required acquiring necessary information from other areas or departments.
- Produce work content with accuracy for review by engineers or senior department members.
- Some overtime may be required at times.
- Complete assignments on time.
- Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
- Work with minor independent judgment under close direction of senior staff.
- Some overnight and/or international travel (Mexico) may be required.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Mechanical Design and at least 5 years of work experience with computer-aided design OR equivalent professional experience is required.
- Bachelor's Degree is a plus.
Key Competencies:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and computer-generated reports, markups and hand sketches
- Experience with Creo, 3D solid modeling software and Windchill PLM software is a plus, but experience with any 3D CAD programs such as Solid Works is acceptable
- Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, analytical and problem solving ability
- Team player and detail-oriented
- Adaptable to changing demands, priorities and objectives
- Ability to work from oral or written engineering instructions
- Customer driven and quality minded in performing all assigned duties
- Ability to handle multiple varied tasks simultaneously
- Capable of Leading Medium Design Projects and Coaching Small Projects
- Develop or Implement Design Strategies/Objectives, Revise or Maintain Standard Work, Best Practices & System Documentation
Base Compensation Range is $70,000 - $95,000.
