We are currently hiring a Sr. Compressor Design Manager for our Screw product line. This individual is a key leader responsible for the execution of compressor New Product Development (NPD) and New Technology Programs (NTP) to enable market and revenue growth in HVAC and heating applications for screw compressors.

 

This key role understands market trends, the competitive landscape and regulatory environment affecting HVAC compression and will lead a technical design team to meet or exceed effective design requirements, in alignment with our global commercial HVAC business objectives and our strategic technology roadmap. Accountable for the mechanical integrity and design of scroll compressor platforms to meet customer requirements.

This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite a week) and will be based out of our La Crosse, WI or Davidson, NC office location.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with internal customers, stakeholders and your team, ensuring alignment on project goals, work status and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovative thinking and problem-solving.  Leading implementation of best practices and standard work to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Build a high-performance design team through the full employment lifecycle – attract, engage, retain, and develop – effectively using the full suite of tools offered. Manages department resources, budgets, spending and technology PA agreements with customers.
  • Build technical design competency to ensure your team can effectively meet design, regulatory and code compliance. (i.e. Casting, stress & deflection, oil and lubrication, bearing applications, unloading mechanisms, rotor dynamics, etc....)
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, building trust and understanding of business needs. Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and expertise to support project success.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements, leveraging knowledge to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge. (patent research, active participation in technical associations, academic research papers, etc…)
  • Collaborate with senior business unit leaders and growth teams to develop and execute technology roadmap strategic plans, aligning department goals with organizational objective.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline, Master’s a plus
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant rotating equipment and technical design experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience of successfully leading a technical team preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with individuals across the organization and effectively influence leaders.
  • Technical Design expertise with Market and Regulatory awareness, along with external Association participation and viewed as a technical expert.
  • Able and willing to travel (less than 10%)

Base Pay Range: $154,000 to $204,000.

Additional Compensation: Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
