Job Summary:

The MBE Transformation Leader is a key technical leader within the Enterprise Engineering & Technology team, responsible for driving the digital transformation of Trane Technologies' products and product development practices. This role entails formulating and executing strategies, leveraging industry best practices and strategic partners, and overseeing change management activities. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deploy new technology platforms, processes, and practices, focusing on Advanced Manufacturing, Integrated Supply Chain, Advanced Technology, Engineering and Technology Centers, and Information Technology (IT). The MBE Transformation Leader will ensure the successful adoption and integration of these capabilities, while also driving ongoing technology investments to achieve desired outcomes.

Where is the work: 

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. 


What you will do:

  • Develop and communicate a clear vision, roadmap, and capability development plans for the Model Based Enterprise strategy
  • Define and deliver MBE capabilities across Model Based Definition, Model Based Systems Engineering, Model Based Manufacturing, and Model Based Supply Chain
  • Lead the NextGen PLM project and core team to drive software platform upgrades/changes/additions and ensure alignment with MBE goals
  • Conduct maturity assessments, identify gaps and opportunities, and propose strategies for MBD maturity, product digital thread development, and value creation
  • Drive proof of concepts for organizational and functional deployments of MBE capabilities
  • Develop talent and skillset plans, as well as training and development resources, to support critical MBE-related capabilities
  • Execute change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption and engagement of cross-functional workforce
  • Define and deploy key functional and process KPIs to track and prioritize business process improvements during product development and manufacturing implementation
  • Identify and implement process, tools, and capability changes to simplify and improve product development outcomes
  • Drive organizational development and talent stewardship activities to support engineering transformation initiatives
  • Maintain technical capabilities assessments, identify gaps, and coordinate technical training plans for engineers and technologists


What you will bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (advanced degree preferred)
  • Extensive experience deploying engineering capabilities, including at least 5 years in global engineering leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of Model Based Definition, Model Based Systems Engineering, Requirements Management, and Product Lifecycle Management applications and processes
  • Technical familiarity with industrial manufacturing sector and HVAC&R product categories and applications preferred
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering capability roadmaps and successful implementation of large scale, complex engineering transformation initiatives globally (PLM etc)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a global matrix organization, leading through influence across multiple functions and cultures
  • Advanced project management skills, with a results-oriented and customer-centric mindset
  • Previous experience working with distributed knowledge groups and industry consortia
